I have to give this one 2.75 stars because it just wasn't as good as the first book. There were some sexy and funny parts and even some that made me tear up, but the whole wedding business and the family dynamics kind of turned me off. Mama Ginger and Jane's whole family (except her Dad) could never again appear on the pages and I'd be happy. The scenes with them were frustrating and I wanted to slap a few of them on a number of occasions. Plus, the fact that the one storyline I actually wanted to know about didn't conclude in this book kind of pissed me off. It's disappointing because I really liked the first book. I love Jane, Gabriel, Dick, Amelia, and Zeb and I wish the book had focused on them more instead of Jolene and her crazy werewolf family, Jane's bitchy Mom, Sister, and Grandma, and Zeb's astronomically delusional Mama Ginger. Almost every single one of those people got on my nerves at one point or another and they almost ruined the book for me. The book's saving grace though is Jane herself. She's likable, smart, and funny. Gabriel is absent for too much of the book, since I really like him as well. But I want to know where he keeps going without Jane! And Dick is funny too, and when the three of them get together it's hilarious. It's too bad I disliked the plot of this one so much because the main characters are fantastic.I also had a problem with the "mystery"—the fact that I figured it out within the first 100 pages! Jane should have realized what was going on way sooner than she did, but then there would have been no story for this book. I'm hoping the next book, although most likely the last in this series, somehow ends on a better note.
